Data sources behind the Thailand Livability Index

At v1.0, TLI draws on 26 authoritative datasets across 31 indicators. The roster spans Thai government statistics agencies, international scientific datasets, open civic data, and accreditation bodies. Every score on the site links back to the underlying provider; the complete list appears below.

  1. Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED)

    Independent academic crisis-monitoring database covering protests, riots, and armed conflict events worldwide. TLI uses a 5-year rolling window over ACLED events. Refresh: weekly upstream; TLI re-pulls monthly.

  2. CP All / 7-Eleven Thailand store-locator API

    CP All's store-locator API for 7-Eleven Thailand. 9,447 stores across all 77 provinces (2026-05-04 pull). Quarterly refresh on 5 January, April, July, and October.

  3. Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM)

    Thai government department that records cabinet-resolution flood-aid declarations by province. Refresh: annual, after the fiscal-year close.

  4. Department of Fine Arts (FAD) — กรมศิลปากร

    data.go.th GIS Fine Arts dataset; monuments formally registered under Thailand's 1961 Ancient Monuments Act. Replaces UNESCO World Heritage as the scored heritage indicator. Refresh: annual; the registry is slow-changing and new inscriptions are infrequent.

  5. Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA)

    Thai government civil-registration system; the legal record of population by province and sub-province. Refresh: annual, in February following the reference year.

  6. Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA), Bureau of Registration Administration

    DOPA SPA JSON API; per-year-of-age registered population for all 77 provinces. Reference year BE 2568, December (December 2025 in the Western calendar). Annual refresh in February following the reference year.

  7. Hansen Global Forest Change v1.12 (University of Maryland GLAD)

    University of Maryland satellite forest-cover dataset (Landsat-derived); peer-reviewed and globally cited. Refresh: annual; v1.x releases roll forward as new years are processed.

  8. Joint Commission International (JCI)

    International gold-standard healthcare quality accreditation body; rigorous on-site inspections. Refresh: TLI re-pulls quarterly; the underlying accreditation list changes on the order of weeks per accreditation cycle.

  9. Ministry of Public Health — Road Traffic Injuries Data Center (RTIDC)

    MoPH RTIDC public dashboard — Thailand's canonical three-database integration (police, hospital, and insurance records). Annual fatalities per 100,000 residents. Refresh: annual, in February of the following year.

  10. Ministry of Public Health (MoPH)

    Thai Ministry of Public Health facility registry covering every hospital in the country. Refresh: annual; the registry changes when hospitals open or close.

    MOTS provincial arrival statistics (www.mots.go.th/images/). Annual international visitor arrivals divided by provincial population. Refresh: monthly upstream as new arrival reports are published.

  12. NASA POWER (bias-corrected precipitation reanalysis)

    NASA satellite-and-reanalysis climate dataset; daily-precipitation grid covering all 77 Thai provinces. Refresh: monthly upstream (NASA POWER finalizes a rolling 60-day window); TLI re-pulls annually for the rainfall-days metric.

  13. NASA POWER (Thailand Meteorological Department reserved as ground-validation)

  14. National Statistical Office (NSO)

  15. Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC)

    Speedtest internet-speed measurement data, published openly at country and tile resolution. Refresh: quarterly.

  17. OpenAQ (Pollution Control Department feed)

  21. Pollution Control Department (PCD)

    Thai national pollution-control agency; publishes municipal solid-waste handling statistics by province. Refresh: annual.

    Thai government register of gazetted forest area, published annually in the National Statistical Office Yearbook. Refresh: annual.

  23. State Railway of Thailand (SRT); HSR phases via NESDC

    Thai national railway operator and its high-speed-rail consortium partners. Refresh: timetables and station openings change on the order of months; HSR phase milestones are multi-year. TLI re-pulls quarterly.

  24. Thailand Provincial Statistics Office (TPSO)

    TPSO provincial CPI REST API (index-api.tpso.go.th). YoY change smoothed over 3 months. Bangkok excluded — TPSO publishes Bangkok CPI under a separate regional series. Refresh: monthly.

  25. Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT Data API v2)

    TAT's national registry of tourist attractions (place_category_id=3): temples, national parks, museums, historical sites, beaches, viewpoints, waterfalls, and cultural sites. Restaurants, accommodations, and shops excluded. Refresh: TLI re-pulls quarterly; upstream changes when TAT inscribes new sites.

  26. UNESCO World Heritage Centre

    International heritage convention secretariat that inscribes sites of outstanding universal cultural or natural value. Refresh: annual, at the World Heritage Committee session each summer; new Thai inscriptions are infrequent.
